The things I paint are very universal, like the female body, clowns, ghosts… we’ve all felt like a clown or a ghost at one time or another. they get the better movies are the and most chill/less messy.Your paintings seem to use a recurring set of sort of stock characters, including one with a particularly interesting backstory. I’d suggest finding a smaller independent theater if you have one, those are the best.

you adjust to the insanity and it just becomes absurd and all the employees are in it together to keep things running.

you could literally do a movie about one night in a theater and it’d be as insane as ‘mother ! but the then you have slow/low-key days that are nice.ĭespite all of that though, they were some of my favorite jobs of my life and lots of good times. i’ve dealt with more than a few overdoses, a guy pulling a gun in the theater and threatening two 15 year olds behind him who were being noisy (with his two younger daughters by him ), catching a lot of people fucking, we had to ban a customer who’d always come to see kids films on opening day, we caught him in the lobby after watching cp on his phone. and you’ll see a lot of crazy costumers/episodes. and people TRASH movie theaters, and with stadium seating, and especially deluxe cinema auditoriums, you’ll definitely get your exorcise in, and it’s not at least two people cleaning a theater you sometimes have go into speed mode and it’s like mission impossible while there’s still 2 other screens just getting out. but even the higher ups have to help to clean to pick up the schedule.

you get free movies and popcorn and drinks.īut if you’re an usher you feel like a glorified usher. i’ve worked with a lot of great people though. If anything I can ask my former manager for the one they have up before she throws it away when it leaves theaters, and I can just ship it to you if you can't get it. It wouldn't hurt to call, or just ask an employee to request it (i understand if that'd be awkward if you don't know any of them all to well.

I literally have like a bucket full of posters I've collected over the years, including movies I haven't seen or didn't particularly like. Technically we are not supposed to? But every theater I've worked at nobody wanted it they'd literally be crumpled up or torn up and thrown in the trash can with everything else. I've given posters to people when I was an employee (nearly every chain, and some art house/independent ones), even finding posters from years previous just stashed somewhere and forgotten, (lie Phantom Thread, which was pretty cool to find). I mean, I've worked at several theaters, and unless one of the employees claims it, they are just tossed out. I can't wait to see it again, hopefully before it leaves theaters. Even if you haven't seen X it still stands on its own.

Gorgeously shot, and the editing is spectacular that use of split screen/mirror effect during the montage near the end was amazing Just a perfect portrait of madness. I'm a long time West film, but this is by far my favorite of his, there's not a moment or element I would change. The audition scene, well, I'm not going to spoil.

Plus she co-wrote it which is just the cherry on the top. That single take monologue that goes on for about 10 minutes, I don't think I blinked once. Mia Goth, though, joining the ranks of Toni in Hereditary, Isabelle in Possession, Cate in Blue Jasmine, such a truly astonishing performance of such raw power. But seriously my favorite film of the year so far, so great it actually elevates X which I need to rewatch now.
